Isaac Seekell Obituary, Charlestown, Rhode Island Accident Death: Community Mourn
The community of Charlestown is mourning the tragic loss of 21-year-old Isaac Seekell, who died following a small aircraft crash near Westerly State Airport on Monday. The sudden incident has left family members, friends, classmates, and members of the local aviation community in shock as investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
According to the Westerly Fire Department, emergency dispatchers received reports shortly after noon regarding a plane crash near Airport Road. Initial emergency calls suggested the possibility of a fire at the scene, prompting a rapid response involving multiple emergency agencies. Upon arrival, responders located the aircraft in a field near the Stop & Shop area across from the airport.
Fire officials later confirmed that there was no active fire associated with the crash. Emergency medical personnel immediately began providing critical aid to the pilot, who had sustained severe injuries during the incident. Additional rescue units were requested as crews worked to stabilize the situation and arrange emergency transport. Despite life-saving efforts, Isaac Seekell was later pronounced deceased after being transported to a nearby hospital.

He previously attended Chariho High School and later studied at Word of Life Bible Institute, where he also participated in soccer activities. Reports indicate that he had recently been pursuing aviation training through a local flight school.
